    Is Hopper Alive?

                Many fans are wondering about whereabouts of Jim Hopper. Some are saying that he is dead as they saw the last episode. But here’s the thing, he is alive!

Theory # 1

                If you look at the last scene when, as showed, he dies. You will see a stair ahead of that particle-accelerator-like machine. And one thing that you won’t see just before the machine exploded is Hopper himself. He was standing there as Joyce turned the keys and before she did, there was short pause and she didn’t look at the machine as it exploded because she couldn’t look a Hopper dying. And also there was a pause in the episode as a black screen. These pauses were the time for Hopper to escape from there using those stairs.

Theory # 2

                It also lies in the lab. The machine they were using to open up a portal used a lots of energy and it might have opened up a portal for time travel and Hopper was sent to another time. Maybe past… maybe future. We just have to wait until the fourth season to come out.

Theory # 3

                Before the machine exploded, Hopper might have gone through the portal and is now in the upside down. He has already been there in season 2 when finding Will Byers. He might have gone through it and looking for another portal to come out. Which he is probably not going to find in Hawkins.

Theory # 4

                This theory relates with the third one. If Hopper has gone inside the Upside Down. He may have ended up in Russia. As we saw at the very end of the last episode, Russian soldiers talked about an American when they were about throw a man in a cell for a Demogorgon to eat. Hopper might have ended up in Russia after entering through the portal in Hawkins. And now he is there in Russia as a prisoner. There are also theories about that mysterious man behind the door they talked about that he was Dr. Brenner aka El’s Papa.

                There is also a scenario that Hopper was arrested by the Russian soldiers after the machine exploded as Joyce and Murray were running out of there. And then the Russians took him to Russia and now he is a prisoner there.
